Facility Development Coord IIThe Facility Development Level II Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership and coordination for assigned facility development projects of high complexity within the Bronson Healthcare system. This person works independently and must exhibit high-level organization, analysis and communication skills, along with the ability to manage many projects at the same time. The coordinator must communicate between external consultants and internal stakeholders and ensure all development projects are delivered with optimal outcomes for safety and comfort of patients as well as the time and cost constraints of the project’s schedule and budget. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
Bachelor's degree in related field and 10 years of relevant healthcare experience required
Experience in architecture or interior design preferred
Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft office suite
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Excellent verbal and graphic presentation skills
• Familiarity with the architectural design and construction process
• Familiarity with state, local and regulatory requirements as related to health care design and construction (i.e. The Bureau of Fire Services, The Health Facilities Engineering Section, Michigan Building Code, Federal Guidelines Institute, ADA, The Joint Commission, etc.)
• Ideal candidate would be skilled in AutoCAD, Revit and Blue Beam or Adobe PDF Writer
Work which produces levels of mental/visual fatigue which are typical of jobs that perform a wide variety of duties with frequent and significant uncontrollable deadlines. Work may include the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT up to 40 percent of the time.
The job produces some physical demands. Typical of jobs that include regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, and some lifting of light weight objects.
Independent project leadership and coordination of assigned facility development projects of high complexity.
• Identify and develop project scope with internal stakeholders and external consultants.
• Typical projects to include major renovations and new construction focused mostly on in-patient areas (i.e. surgery, in-patient suites, radiology, etc.)
• Project scope may include, but is not limited to the following:
o Architectural space planning and floor plan layout
o Work flow planning
o Overall building and exterior design
o Interior finishes, ceilings and casework
o Mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
o Site / landscape design and layout
o Furniture, fixtures and equipment
o Signage and way finding
o Move planning
• Coordinate project scope with various internal teams (i.e. Clinical Teams, Facility Services, Security, IT, Bio Med, Environment of Care, Infection Control, etc.)
• Lead project development meetings with multi-disciplinary groups of 10 to 20 people.
• Develop and manage project budgets.
• Develop and manage project schedules.
• Identify and manage all project related milestones.
• Attend construction meetings and monitor construction progress, along with the Facility Services or Properties teams.
• Develop and maintain standards as related to facility development projects.
• Provide recommendations on best practices and evidence-based design, based on current literature review, site visits and related educational opportunities.
• Coordinate with the appropriate parties to be sure that each project is executed to meet state, local and regulatory requirements. Coordinate and communicate as needed with the appropriate body, to meet those requirements (i.e. The Bureau of Fire Services, The Health Facilities Engineering Section, etc.)
• Create and submit, along with the appropriate clinical and legal team members, the required documents for projects requiring a Certificate of Need
