Facility HVAC Mechanic - Fujirebio Diagnostics Inc

Position Summary: Responsible for routine maintenance of Fujirebio Diagnostics, Inc.’s equipment and facility. Accountable for maintaining the facility according to FDI standards and all applicable regulations; i.e., OSHA, FDA, NRC and other licensed inspections.

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for routine maintenance, cleaning, testing, troubleshooting, setups, fine adjustments and repairs according to FDI procedures.
• Responds to off-hour alarm calls for equipment failure or facility emergencies.
• Adheres to GMPs and SOPs and good lab practices while performing equipment and facility maintenance.
• Accurately maintains all logs and documentation on equipment maintenance, repairs and service.
• Interacts with some outside vendors and suppliers while maintaining the facility.
• Provides hands on mechanical expertise in the set-up and repair of facility equipment; may assist with the HEPA filter and clean room certifications, as needed.
• Provides mechanical expertise for instrument and equipment troubleshooting.
• Participates in the installation of new equipment, as well as performs line integrations into existing lines.
• Handles hazardous, residual waste according to established procedures in coordination with the Manager, Environmental Health and Safety.
• Follows safety policies and procedures and ensures that all safety equipment is properly maintained; trained in lock out/tag out procedures.
• Follows all company environmental, health and safety policies, procedures and guidelines, and conducts work in a safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications (skills, knowledge, special training, certification, license requirements):

• Trained, licensed and able to operate forklift
• General mechanical, plumbing, electrical and HVAC knowledge in a manufacturing/laboratory environment
• State licensed in HVAC Freon recovery
• Ability to drive – driver’s license required
• Ability to use a computer keyboard
• Ability to use hand and stationary power tools (pneumatic and electric)
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
• Excellent attendance required

Education and Work Experience Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Technical trade school coursework or diploma preferred
• 5 years minimum experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably in a lab environment
• General mechanic and plumbing experience pertinent to production equipment
