ABOUT THE ROLE:
Under the general supervision of the Family Engagement Coordinator, the Family Resource Navigator (FRN) is responsible for providing trauma-informed short-term case management, information and referral assistance, and supporting families navigate systems of care at the assigned schools. FRNs will collaborate with SUN Site Manager, school administrators, and other community partners to identify families who could use additional support to address and assist in their universal household needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provide community resources and service referrals (e.g., rent, utilities, food, legal, social, mental health, employment, and education).
- Recruit participants & facilitate a Family Leadership Team at assigned schools.
- Coordinate monthly parent workshops & family engagement efforts of interest to parents.
- Provide trauma informed short term case management and maintain a caseload.
- Assist in maintaining hygiene closet and community clothes closet in assigned schools.
- Conduct community outreach as needed to meet required outcomes.
- Collaborate with SUN Site Manager, school building administrators, school staff, and community partners to identify families who could use additional support navigating systems of care.
- Organize and maintain records, documentation, and reports as required by agency, partners and funders, including use of Salesforce database.
- Attend meetings with program manager, school administrators, partner and EPHC meetings as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be bilingual (Spanish/English) and culturally responsive.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in Spanish and English.
- High School Diploma or GED required with at least 1 year experience in the related field.
- Experience providing referral support and resource navigation is preferred.
- Must be able to organize/prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, follow through, and have a high attention to detail
- Ability to work well both independently and in team setting; adapt well to dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which include some evenings and weekends.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Must have driver's license, access to vehicle and automobile insurance at levels required by agency (100/300/100).
- Satisfactory results from criminal background check required
COMPENSATION: $23-$24/hour DOE. This is a grant-funded position..
LOCATION & TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Location: Hall & East Gresham Elementary.
Typical Working Conditions: This position will be work at Job duties may require occasional travel, and evening and weekend work depending on program needs.
Community On-Site (80% of time)
- Supporting parents and families at designated school sites, providing resource navigation, case management services, leading family events, attending in-person trainings, attending community partner meetings, and funder meetings.
In office (10% of time)
- In office work is located at EPHC's office in Gresham, OR and is required for staff meetings, department meetings, community events, and other additional duties requiring in office work.
Remote from home (10% of time)
- Remote work from home for administrative tasks such as data entry, expense report submission, and work-related virtual meetings. Note: Remote work is dependent on performance and may be revoked at supervisors' discretion.
