We are a true farm-to-table company with operations that touch every aspect of agriculture, including seed production, farming and ranching, plant sciences, fertilizer manufacturing, food processing, commercial product development, and distribution. **SUMMARY** Assists in the care and treatment of feedlot cattle by performing the following duties. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned. + Monitors cattle by riding the feedlot pens on horseback to identify sick, injured, or stressed animals; removes the sick or injured cattle from pens to be medically treated. + Assists with the receiving, unloading, sorting, and processing of cattle as assigned by the Feedlot and/or Cattle Manager. + Assists in the medical treatment of sick or injured cattle by following an established medical-treatment plan provided by the Staff Veterinarian. + Moves cattle from pen to pen as instructed by the Cattle Manager and/or Lead Cowboy to rotate cattle according to production schedules. + Trains, shoes, feeds, and medically treats horses to provide healthy, productive animals. **QUALIFICATIONS** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. **MATHEMATICAL SKILLS** Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. **REASONING ABILITY** Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. **OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES** Must be able to saddle and ride a horse.
