Summary:
The Workforce Group Team is currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Field Clerk to support our logistics and financial operations during disaster events. As a Field Clerk in our Emergency Response Reservist Cadre Team, you will be responsible for providing administrative, clerical, and basic accounting support to ensure efficient and effective logistics and financial operations during disaster response activities. Your role will involve maintaining accurate records, managing documentation, handling basic accounting tasks, and assisting with coordination efforts.
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Availability:
Ideal candidates for these response missions will be local and available to start within 24 to 72 hours of notification. These are contract positions typically lasting from several days to a few weeks, with the potential to extend up to 30 days or more depending on the disaster response needs. Local availability ensures rapid response to urgent situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including inventory management, equipment usage, personnel assignments, and expense tracking.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of reports, forms, and other documentation related to logistics and financial operations.
- Coordinate communication between field personnel, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage the collection, organization, and filing of all relevant paperwork, including financial records and invoices.
- Perform basic accounting tasks such as processing expense reports, tracking budgets, and ensuring accurate record-keeping for all financial transactions.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating logistics activities and personnel.
- Provide clerical support, including data entry, filing, photocopying, and maintaining financial records.
- Ensure compliance with all organizational, regulatory, and financial guidelines and standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, logistics, or a related field is preferred. Experience in an administrative or clerical role, preferably in emergency or disaster response settings, with familiarity in basic accounting tasks preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic accounting software.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in challenging environments.
- Willingness to be on emergency standby and deployed at short notice.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor settings and potentially hazardous environments. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed during emergency deployments. Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
