FIELD ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION
These activities describe the basic duties to be fulfilled by the Field Engineer.
- Assist office, shop and field supervisory staff in completing necessary tasks for jobs in progress. Field engineer will obtain and review plans and specifications on all active projects and become familiar with all aspects of our scope of work on each project.
- Conduct jobsite and shop safety inspections, training, maintain records related to safety. Work with outside safety consultant as applicable to conduct these together and coordinate all related activities. Field Engineer will become OSHA 30 hour trained in the first year of employment.
- Conduct jobsite quality inspections related to completion of tasks in accordance with approved shop and field drawings and contract drawings.
- Assist with maintenance of equipment/maintenance program.
- Assist with repairs to safety related equipment and documentation of same.
- Continue self-training in professional skills by attending and completing approved educational programs related to construction and industry safety.
- Draft and submit through the project manager, all safety related submittals required by our contracts, to our customers.
