POSITION SUMMARY:
The Field Medicaid Specialist supports and develops the Business Office staff of communities to ensure the timely and accurate Revenue Cycle Process as it relates to Medicaid Pending. The Field Medicaid Specialist works in conjunction with and supports the Revenue Cycle Department as it relates to Medicaid Pending. Traveling to cover facilities around the Pittsburgh area as well as facilities in Eastern Ohio.
Qualifications/Responsibilities:
- Must possess knowledge of multi-state Medicaid eligibility requirements, from the application through the appeal process.
- Must be able to travel to facilities 2-3 days a week.
- Must possess and demonstrate the ability to carry out both verbal and written directions.
- Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Must possess and demonstrate strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.)
- Develop, support and assist communities in relation to Business Office functions while adhering to all applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures, including but not limited to those within the Compliance Process, Code of Conduct and HIPAA.
- Assist management teams of the communities in the management and direction of the Business Office Manager, as it relates to the Medicaid eligibility process.
- Perform routine and periodic Business Office audits as directed.
- Perform other related duties as directed by Director of Medicaid Eligibility.
- Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel and management.
- Must be able to cope with the mental, emotional and physical stress of the position.
Experience:
- Have two (2) or more years of Long-Term Care experience as it relates to Revenue Cycle
