Job Summary
The Film Study Instructor at Concorde Education is responsible for guiding students through the exploration of film as an art form and a medium of communication. This role involves covering major topics in film studies, providing exemplars for different topics, and curating clips to illustrate key points. The instructor will develop and implement a curriculum that deepens students' understanding of film history, theory, genres, and technical aspects. General Responsibilities
- Design and implement a film study curriculum tailored to the needs and interests of the students.
- Lead film study sessions that teach students about film history, theory, genres, and technical aspects.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
- Assess students' skills and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with other instructors and program coordinators to integrate the film study curriculum with other educational offerings.
- Track student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Facilitate regular communication with parents, guardians, and educational stakeholders regarding student performance and program updates.
- Ensure that all equipment and materials are properly set up, maintained, and stored.
Major Duties
- Curriculum Development: Develop lesson plans and learning modules that cover major topics in film studies, including history, theory, genres, and technical aspects.
- Classroom Instruction: Lead classes, ensuring that each student is actively engaged and benefiting from the educational experience.
- Student Assessment: Regularly evaluate student progress, adapting instruction to meet individual needs.
- Community Building: Create a classroom environment that encourages critical discussion, respect, and appreciation for diverse cinematic perspectives.
- Technology and Equipment Management: Ensure the optimal performance and maintenance of all audiovisual equipment and film materials.
- Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate records of student attendance, assessment results, and feedback, submitting reports as required.
