Financial Controller
A positive attitude is a must as well as teamwork and leadership. The position reports to the CFO and is responsible for directing: General Accounting, Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, IT and Payroll.
The incumbent is responsible for owning accounting procedures that support internal departments and inter-company transactions, as well as other activities. This position supervises a team of other accounting staff.
Responsibilities:
• Treasury activities including banking relationship and cash management.
• Ownership of monthly close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account analysis, account reconciliations & preparation of financial statements.
• Responsible for various government (local, state, federal) reporting such as: Sales & Use Tax Return Filings, U.S. Census/Economic Bureau reporting, property tax reporting, etc.
• Ensure all taxes (Federal, State, and local) are filed and paid on-time (Corporate, payroll, unemployment, etc.).
• Lead external audit and tax teams to complete required annual tax and audit work on a timely basis, including compiling requested information and preparation of various analysis.
• Monitor and review accounts payable and receivable transactions to ensure compliance with accounting standards and reporting requirements.
• Assist with annual budget process.
• Maintain the capitalization table.
• Responsible for IT activities including relationship with network and security provider.
• Initiate and lead continuous process improvements (analyzing current procedures and recommend changes, etc.).
• Support CFO and ownership as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Minimal education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• CPA / MBA preferred but not required
• Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience with several years Finance/Accounting leadership
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and practices of accrual accounting.
• Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines with a strong emphasis on organizational skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Must demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills with ability to collaborate well with the organization.
• Advanced experience in all Microsoft business applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and strong ERP skillset and understand of system process flows
• Must be positive, detail-oriented, analytical, organized, team oriented and driven problem solver.
• Ability to exercise initiative, use sound judgment in analyzing situations, and make decisions in a timely manner
• Ability to act with empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks (preferred).

• Must be at least 21 years old.

• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Light travelling is required.
• Sitting or standing at a desk for long periods of time.
