Job Summary:
The Finance Controller will be responsible for managing and overseeing the company s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management. This role is crucial in maintaining financial health, providing insightful analysis, and supporting decision-making processes to drive the company's growth in the freight forwarding industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management: Oversee and manage all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and manage budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor financial performance against budgets, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Provide insights into financial performance, trends, and projections.
Cash Flow Management:
Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs. Implement strategies to optimize cash flow and working capital.
Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Conduct periodic audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies. Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and address any audit findings or recommendations.
Reporting:
Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to senior management, including financial performance summaries, variance analyses, and strategic recommendations.
Systems and Processes:
Implement and improve financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Evaluate and recommend financial software and tools as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance management /supervisory role, preferably within the freight forwarding or logistics industry. Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.
Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
