Your Next Career Opportunity – Finance Transformation Analyst II
The position's primary purpose is to support the enhancement of SBA's finance transformation functions by assisting with various strategic initiatives. This role is largely project-focused and will support efficient and effective financial accounting operations by assisting with the planning, implementing, and tracking a variety of initiatives to ensure their successful development, completion, and sustainability. This role will also participatein evaluating current processes and making recommendations for improvement, while ensuring a solid communication strategy to keep all stakeholders involved and informed. Other responsibilities include supporting the implementation of accounting policies and procedures, support with technical accounting guidance research, maintenance of and oversight of the control environment, and departmental training development. This position provides the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams and interact with corporate leadership across SBA's business areas.
What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities
Draft project functional requirements, as-is and to-be process mapping, and other related process documentation and obtains sign-off validation.
Drive data gathering, root cause analysis, and performance trending to propose appropriate process and control changes.
Participates on project teams and provides support through a clear understanding of comprehensive project plans and timelines and drives activities needed to complete projects/initiatives.
Reviews the quality of work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that the work produced meets project standards.
Participates in new system implementation and process changes, continuous improvement initiatives and develops training for new systems implementation and process changes for the Organization.
Communicates findings to IT and the business, gaining consensus and turning findings into clearly defined action plans and outcomes.
Assists with presentations on in-process and completed projects/initiatives and presents status reports to stakeholders.
Serves as a change agent inside the organization, willing to assume responsibility and develop new approaches to solve problems.
Perform administrative duties to support SBA’s control environment.
Assist with new U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and SEC guidance by performing research and supporting technical accounting position papers and memorandums.
Work across various business functions to document and refine accounting policies and procedures.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business/ Finance/ Accounting/ MIS/Industrial Engineering or related field of study;
2+ years of general accounting experience, data analysis/analytics, and process improvement experience required.
Demonstrated knowledge and advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.
Demonstrated experience in project management, process management, and/or change management.
Experience with automated accounting systems, internal controls, and accounting procedures.
Experience in developing and performing detailed technical analyses to support project scoping and execution.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, especially in interpreting complex subjects
Great Plains or other ERP system experience preferred.
