Job Description
The Michigan Lottery was established under the authority of Public Act 239 of 1972 to generate funds to support Michigan’s public-school system and generates revenue through the sale of Lottery tickets at retail locations and over the internet. Profits from lottery revenue are used to supplement state education programs.
Position will function as a professional financial analyst providing in depth review and analysis of retailer financial data, including personal and business bank transactions, Lottery related transactions, Lottery ticket inventory levels, personal and business debt and liens, credit standing, and other factors to determine business credit worthiness of license applicants or established licensees. The position performs statistical analysis, risk modeling, and serves as a financial resource to the Retailer Services, Security, Internal Legal Counsel of the Michigan Lottery and the Attorney General's Office providing onsite financial expertise as to all aspects of the investigative, licensing, credit and receivables process as outlined in the McCauley-Traxler-Law-Bowman-McNeely Lottery Act of 1972 and Administrative Rules. The position is responsible for collection of all Lottery retailer receivables and outstanding debt, maintains collection and Treasury referral files, monitors bonds, and provides retailer support in regards of weekly settlements and inventory management.

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 12 semester (18 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: accounting, finance, or economics.

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of experience as an Accounting Technician E9 and/or 10, Account Examiner E10 and/or 11, Account Examiner Supervisor 12, or Office Supervisor 9-10 (with the bookkeeping subclass code); or, one year of experience as an Account Examiner Supervisor 13, or Office Supervisor 11-12 (with the bookkeeping subclass code).
