About the Job
Summary- The Financial Controller is responsible for the accounting function of the organization including financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting standards compliance.
Essential Duties:
- Create all journal entries including monthly entries, adjustments, and accruals.
- Review, finalize, and post AP and AR batches, manage AP vendor file and ACH information. Oversee other accounting staff. Perform their duties as needed.
- Reconcile bank accounts.
- Maintain detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain fixed asset system.
- Ensure proper accounting for and use of grant and restricted funds, in accordance with accounting standards.
- Complete the monthly accounting close by the established deadline. Review and distribute financial statements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines. Ongoing review of company activities to ensure that internal controls are in place and adequate to a changing business environment.
- Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with auditors to assist with the annual financial audit and 990 preparations.

Preferred Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years full-cycle accounting experience
- Knowledge of funds accounting required
- Provide exemplary customer service
- Has awareness of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Proficient using email, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and learning new applications, platforms, etc.
