- Performs finishing operations as directed and assigned on a variety of product. Such operations include packaging, assembly, rework, inspection, weighing, recording finished production. Work under direct supervision.
- Packs cartons with empty plastic bottles at a standard rate.
- Twists, bends and lifts every carton. This requires wrist and arm movements.
- Uses simple measuring instruments such as a ruler, scale or gages to check work. General arithmetic knowledge is necessary to understand how to use these tools.
- Monitors product for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/ or the coordinator.
- Loads conveyors and flamers.
- Practices housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine including mopping if necessary.
- Removes scrap from around the line.
- Grind and pull plastic as needed.
- Makes and unitizes cartons as assigned.
- Initials and dates box labels.
- Makes out unit tickets.
- Does any other work as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Ability to work with 18- 30 lbs. per carton.
- Possibly packs 100 to 250 cartons in an 8-hour shift.
- May have to lift carton off the horse onto floor.
- Twists, bends and lifts every carton.
- Promotes a safe working environment.
- Understands and adheres to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers.
