Role Overview
The Fire Technician provides fire alarm system installation which requires low voltage wiring, performing testing and troubleshooting on the systems, and compliance with local codes.
Status: Full-Time, Non-exempt
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and wire fire alarm system per local building and fire code
- Read, understand and follow blueprints
- Conduct a proper test and inspection
- Troubleshoot and service a fire alarm system
- Communicate expectations with customers
- Out of town travel/stay on occasion for this position. (Per diem and hotel is provided as needed)
Education and Experience:
- HS Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of fire alarm experience and low voltage experience preferred, but not required
- Valid Driver's License
- Safe driving record
- Must pass a background check and drug test
- Ability to work 80% of the time in the field
The Alert Alarm Benefit:
Compensation starts at $19 to $33+ per hour DOE and ICC and/or NICET certifications.
