Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Project Management:
- Lead firmware-related projects.
- Manage large-scale outsourced firmware development projects.
- Technical Expertise:
- Become a subject matter expert on microelectronic product portfolios.
- Establish firmware architecture requirements.
- Write and validate detailed microelectronic control design and test specifications.
- Maintain model configuration information for microelectronic product portfolios.
- Cross-functional Engagement:
- Participate in cross-functional team activities.
- Engage in product development meetings, feature definition sessions, pilot builds, and manual reviews.
- Testing & Validation:
- Validate test equipment produced by manufacturers.
- Perform firmware development and testing in lab environments.
- Write test lab orders for execution by lab technicians.
- Issue Resolution:
- Investigate and resolve firmware issues.
- Drive root cause analysis and resolution.
- Quality & Cost Improvements:
- Identify opportunities for quality and cost improvements.
- Production Support:
- Provide support to production as needed.
- Vendor Management:
- Manage vendor access to licensed developer applications and tools.
Education & Experience:
- Preferred Degrees:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of programming experience.
- Extensive experience in firmware development with C programming.
- Experience with Lua and UI designer applications like Storyboard is a plus.
- Project management experience is highly desirable.
