This is an opportunity to lead and maintain UNFCU's BSA and OFAC compliance program. You will guide our team in safeguarding our organization against financial crimes while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
This position is expected to be hybrid.
NYC Salary Range - $191,000 - $250,000 annually; compensation is commensurate to geographic location.

- Enhance and maintain a comprehensive BSA & OFAC compliance program to comply with all applicable rules, regulations, statutes and best practices, including all reports required under the relevant laws such as the filing of Currency Transaction Reports, Suspicious Activity Reports, OFAC blocking reports, etc.
- Keep abreast of, monitor, and analyze developing trends and changes in BSA, AML & OFAC laws, rules, regulations and enforcement actions. Advise management of the operational impact and facilitate implementation of any new and regulatory changes as necessary.
- Liaise with various business lines to achieve a balanced approach to BSA compliance and superior member service.
- Ensure that the credit union’s BSA & OFAC policies and procedures manual remain in compliance with FinCEN and FFIEC guidance.
- Conduct a risk assessment of the BSA & OFAC programs on at least an annual basis to promptly capture changing risk trends and modify programs as needed.
- Keep abreast of current trends in the payments space in relation to AML and its potential impact to BSA compliance.
- Leverage information technology to optimize and automate the BSA & OFAC compliance functions and achieve maximum functionality and efficiency.
- Contribute to new product development and working groups focused on BSA & OFAC compliance.
- Liaise with federal examiners and auditors during compliance-related examinations, ensure that compliance issues are adequately addressed with internal, external and NCUA auditors, and monitor corrective action of any compliance deficiencies identified in regulatory reports of examination.
- Coordinate with HR Corporate Learning to create and maintain a BSA Compliance Training Program that effectively addresses the requirements of applicable BSA & OFAC laws and regulations, the credit union’s related policies and procedures, and employee responsibilities for new and existing employees on an ongoing and as needed basis.
- Coordinate with the Office of General Counsel to analyze and provide written comments to proposed new regulations and/or amendments to existing regulations impacting the credit union’s BSA or OFAC programs within allotted time frames established by the regulatory agencies.
- Bachelor’s degree, plus 10-15 years of related experience with a credit union or financial institution with 5 years of people leadership experience
- Completed or agree to complete one or more compliance officer certification programs
- Broad knowledge of and practical experience with credit union or other financial institution operating area functions, products and services and the laws and regulations which apply to credit unions
- Familiarity with applicable software and applications
- MS Office proficiency
- Excellent analytical ability; able to conduct thorough research, interpret and understand laws and regulations, and provide workable recommendations and solutions to problems
