The Fleet Mobile Mechanic is responsible for on-site mobile service and repair work, troubleshooting, diagnostic, state inspections for semi-trailers and route trucks. Fleet Mobile Mechanic
The Fleet Mobile Mechanic is responsible for on-site mobile service and repair work, troubleshooting, diagnostic, state inspections for semi-trailers and route trucks. Must work with a high degree of independence and maintain a high level of productivity and able to work within Standard Repair times.

- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance ("PM"), DOT inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Perform minor adjustment and repairs on various types of trucks and trailers including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (automatic), Differentials, etc.
- Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and to ensure that they are working properly.
- Independently manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
- Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicle, conducting safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections of vehicle.
- Work with and listen effectively to internal customers to assess their needs, providing information or assistance, resolving their problems, or satisfying their expectations.
- Communicate with management via email or phone on work assignments providing feedback on needed repairs obtaining approvals when necessary.
- Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
- Worker is subject to hazards such as proximity to moving parts, electrical current and moving objects carrying considerable weight and force.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, as well as pneumatic tools, welding equipment, lift and jacks.
- Document according to company standards and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and all findings observed on Repair Orders.
- Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely manner.
- Maintain a high level of productivity ensuring work tasks are completed efficiently.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
What we need from you:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have valid driver's license and meet company minimum driving qualifications.
- Valid DOT medical card or ability to obtain one prior to employment or within 72 hours of hire.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as Diesel & Gas Technician on medium to heavy-duty equipment repair or equivalent combination of technical education/certifications/skill/experience.
- Requires strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Must have basic math proficiency.
- Be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when needed.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Adequate Welding skills.
- Must be proficient in the use of a computer and software programs.
- Be able to work unsupervised and make service calls when needed.
