As an Estimator, you will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates for flooring projects. Your experience in construction, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be critical to ensuring that our bids are competitive and our projects are profitable. This role requires knowledge of various flooring materials and installation methods, but prior flooring-specific experience is not required—general construction experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial and residential flooring projects.
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine material and labor requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, suppliers, and clients to ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the estimate.
- Analyze and compare supplier quotes to ensure the best pricing and quality.
- Present estimates to clients and assist in negotiating contracts.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and labor costs.
- Track and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in construction estimating, preferably with subcontractors.
- Knowledge of construction processes and materials (flooring experience is a plus but not required).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
