Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients. Manage according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and instill a passion for customer service in all associates of the hotel.
- Execute directives from the F& B Management Team of the hotel.
- Communicate operational problems that impact the effectiveness of hotels performance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, food and alcohol services.
FINANCIAL
- Keeping systems and database up to date - contacts, files, and cost reports.
- Keep track of the department's OT, missed punches and payroll to ensure the department heads are being consistent with it, to include front of the house, kitchen, and stewarding department.
- Handle purchasing through EPRO platform.
PEOPLE
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Coordinate interdepartmental meetings, stand-up to assist with the communication flow.
- Coordinate interdepartmental training to maintain consistency and keep company standards in order.
GUEST
- Coordinate with the department heads to timely response to guest inquiries and feedback in social media and Medallia.
- Assisting department head in developing and completing guest special events as required.
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
- Manage all office administration responsibilities, including incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and filing, ensuring a smooth paper flow and maintaining the order and cleanliness of the office.
- Completion of all letters and correspondence as requested.
- Administering the purchase process, maintaining an accurate inventory of all office, kitchen, front of the house supplies and equipment within the department.
- Keeping the internal communication boards current, organised, and exciting following company standards and procedures.
- Assisting department head in developing and completing special projects as required.
- Carry out any other administrative support duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS :
High School diploma or equivalent. Some College preferred. Must speak fluent Spanish and English.
This job requires ability to perform the following:
- Frequently standing up and moving about the facility
- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds
- Communicating with customers, employees, and third parties
- Use a keyboard to generate correspondence, reports, etc.
- Handling objects, products, and computer equipment
Other:
- Communication skills are utilized for a significant amount of time when interacting with clients and guests.
- Reading and writing abilities are utilized often.
- Basic math skills are used frequently.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Previous background from the extended stay industry preferred.
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English, other languages beneficial.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
- Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
- Frequently handling objects and equipment.
