The Fish Market - Del Mar, a North San Diego County dining institution, is looking for capable Food Runners and Expeditors to join our team!
The Food Expeditor must be able to masterfully provide hospitality and maintain a smile and pleasant attitude while representing The Fish Market's standards of Uncompromised Quality and the Fish Market Philosophy. While there are never guarantees, this position provides strong preparation for advancement, should performance warrant it.
Essential Job Duties:
- Work in concert with Management, Front of House and Heart of the House staff to facilitate the timely execution and delivery of all food items
- Ensure that all food items are presented according to Fish Market Preparation and Plating Standards
- Maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the Expo Line area
- Interacting with a diverse population of peers, management, and guests
- Providing “lateral service” to other departments as needed
- Being able to connect, communicate and work effectively with a large team
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years’ experience as a busser, server or food runner
- Ability to communicate courteously and effectively to guests and coworkers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- California Food Handler’s card or ability to get one within 30 days of employment
- Responsible Beverage Service card or ability to get one within 60 days of employment
- Have the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes including nights, weekends and holidays
- Be able to lift/carry products horizontally/vertically up to 30 pounds
- Be capable of standing up to 6 hours a shift
- MUST be available weekends/evenings to start
