SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Food Server/Bartender is responsible to take and deliver customer food & beverage orders, maintain tables, ensure guest satisfaction and finalize checks. The Food Server/Bartender is also responsible for performing side work and general cleaning of assigned stations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner and make them feel welcome.
- Guide guests through all phases of their experience at the restaurant.
- Knowledge of selling techniques, service delivery of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and service delivery of menu items of every course.
- Itemize bills correctly and efficiently secure payment.
- Maintain cleanliness and stock of assigned area, side station, tables and Point of Sale (POS) station.
- Anticipate the guest’s needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
- Communicate with management, chef and culinary staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guest and/or employees.
- Complete the Opening Bartender Checklist.
- Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for each drink.
- Serve the guest in accordance with the departmental standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, mixology recipes and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet.
- Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of each wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor laws, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons.
- Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, proper table set ups, room capacity, hours of operation, menus, price range and dress code of assigned outlet.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.
- Inspect cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.
- Adhere to all cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
- Complete the Closing Bartender Checklist.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy environment, maintain physical stamina, proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, associates, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Performs all other job-related duties as requested.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Three (3) years of food and beverage experience in a high paced-environment preferred.
- Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment and supplies including, but not limited to, toasters, refrigerators, coolers, slicers and beverage machines.
- Knowledge of menu items, including characteristics of wine and champagne by the glass, major wines, liquor brands, beer, on-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, terminology and garnishes.
- Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations.
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess, or are able to obtain, a Health Card from the Southern Nevada Health District and an Alcohol Awareness (TAM) Card.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- For Part-Time employees, expect to work hours as needed / potentially a staggered shift including weekends and holidays.
- Comply with the brand and hygiene policies.
