Summary
The Food Service Leader is responsible for the entire food operations including product preparation, inventory and money control systems, recruiting staff, scheduling, overseeing training program, ensuring proper food safety and cleanliness standards are met. May contact prospective customers to promote sales – may establish inventory schedules; implements and carries out marketing initiatives including attracting customers through Social Media. Maintains business records. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.
Customer service and the cleanliness of the Quick Serve Restaurant are priorities. The Burrito Artists is required to perform the following:
- Provide an enthusiastic greeting to all customers upon arrival.
- Get to know your customers and use their name.
- Go out of your way to make customers feel important and valued. Give 100% attention to customers.
- Move quickly to provide fast service.
- Offer suggestions and promotions.
- Thank customers for their business and invite them back.
Without our customers we would not be in business. It’s imperative they receive 100% of our attention and we show appreciation for their business.
Additional Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Hours of Operation
- Daily, 5am – 10pm
- Management Responsibilities
- Attracts customers to the QSR through sampling, great customer service, catering, etc…
- Balance daily sales and deposit cash with the C-Store shiftly/daily/nightly
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, motivate, and discipline employees
- Order, receive, date, manage inventory levels, waste, count, and rotate product according to specific procedures
- Regular, timely attendance to meet customer needs in an efficient and effective manner.
- Review and analyze QSR results to meet profit and sales goals
- Follow and implement operating policies and procedures
- Oversee shift scheduling and QSR hours of operation
- Performs special projects or assignments as directed by Direct Supervisor and/or Food Service Program Manager.
- Quick Serve Restaurant
- o Floors: Sweep and mop store floors, keep free of trash, spills, and stains
- o Shelves: Clean and dust free; maintain shelf labels as needed; merchandise clean and dust free;
- o Coolers & Freezers: Clean doors and shelves, keep free of stains and spills
- o Restrooms: Ensure all restrooms are clean and tidy; all toiletries should be kept full
- o Trash Cans: Emptied, clean and bags tucked out of site
- o Doors & Windows: Clean and free of dirt and smudges
- o Counter Area: Clean and organized; free of trash and spills
- o Clean and organize commissary and back kitchen stockroom and cooler
- Serves customers in an efficient and friendly manner; resolves customer concerns and represents company in a courteous & friendly manner in all customer interactions
- Assists cook with preparing menu items according to standards
- Assemble and load all food and supplies for food truck for the scheduled locations
- Take orders for meals and processes credit/cash transactions
- Prepare food and work the hot and cold lines
- Prepares orders
- Properly stores foods in designated areas following proper dating and labeling procedures
- Properly cleans and maintains food service areas
- Utilizes approved food production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
- Ability to work safely with large volume culinary equipment including but not limited to grill, oven, microwave, generator and propane tanks.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean kitchen environment everyday including dishwashing.
- Responsible for ensuring that proper daily opening and closing procedures are followed and maintained.
- Cash Handling
- Rings up all sales showing amount due; responsible for all cash including monies received and disbursed during the assigned shift, in the form of cash, credit cards, or any other acceptable form of payment
- Responsible for suggestive selling products or merchandise to customers
- Rings up credit card sales and processes credit cards according to company and credit card guidelines
- Makes routine cash drops to the safe, as identified in company Cash Handling Policy.
- Maintain a minimum cash drawer according to company policy.
- Scan or ring up all merchandise
- Complete shift paperwork with accuracy.
- Cleaning and Housekeeping: Inside
- Cleaning and Housekeeping: Outside
- Parking Lot: Sweep and free of all trash around the store
- Trash Cans: Clean, not overflowing, and bags tucked
- Overall Store: It is the responsibility of both C-Store and QSR employees to keep the store looking clean and having great curb appeal.
