Food Service Worker - SGA Talent

About the Job
Many shifts available. Choose a weekday, weekend or nights. Our client is a local college and we are helping them staff food service workers for the upcoming year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Assist in food preparation tasks, such as chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients, as directed by the kitchen staff.
- Serving: Serve food to customers, ensuring portion control and adherence to established presentation standards.
- Cashier Duties: Handle cash and payments from customers, process orders accurately, and provide excellent customer service at the register.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in food service areas, including dining areas, kitchen equipment, and utensils.
- Restocking: Monitor and replenish food items, supplies, and condiments as needed to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with customers, take orders, and address inquiries or concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
- Adherence to Regulations: Comply with health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and safety practices.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth food service and a positive customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service or a similar role is advantageous but not always required; training is often provided.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of trays, dishes, and supplies.
- Walking, bending, and reaching to serve customers and maintain the service area.
