As Food Service Worker, you will assist in food preparation and serving; maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas under the supervision of the Dietary Director, Lead Cook and/or Cook.
Other responsibilities of the position would include, but are not limited to:
- Assists in the preparation, pre-portioning and/or serving of the meal, beverages, and snacks for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu and production sheets and/or as directed.
- Learn and utilize the tray line and diet card system.
- Assists in the assembly and accuracy review of food and diet trays according to planned menu, tray ticket specification, diet preference, regulatory portioning and diet order all according to the established time schedules.
- Ensures that food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner. Uses the proper tasting technique to insure quality taste and palatability prior to service.
- Set up serving line with cold foods, condiments, serving containers, dishes, silverware, etc. according to the menus and as instructed.
- Prepares, stores, and disposes of food using proper food handling, food labeling, and food safety techniques according to established policies and procedures.
- Maintains proper temperature food during preparation and service and records food temperatures according to the facility and regulatory guidelines.
- Deliver loaded food carts and nourishments to hallways and returns and unloaded carts to the dishwashing area according to the facility and regulatory guidelines.
- Collect soiled trays and utensils from dining room tables and transport them to the dishwashing area according to the facility and regulatory guidelines.
