Position: Forge Lead/Supervisor

Reports to: Plant Manager

Shift: 1st

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000

Forge Lead/Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day production of the forging department.

• Establish and adjust the floor to meet production schedules.

• Lead all on-floor activities as per the production schedule.

• Identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to address production needs.

• Oversee the onboarding of new employees and the modification of internal training processes in the forging department..

• Develop and implement standard operating procedures for training and production purposes.

• Work with the production management team to ensure goals are being met daily, including the ability to move and schedule employees in areas that improve efficiency and increase productivity.

Forge Lead/Supervisor Qualifications:

• 3-5 years’ experience in leading or supervising in steel, forging, or stamping.

• Blueprint reading required.

• Previous experience with production planning and scheduling.

• Ability to develop and write standard operating procedures and training documents required.

• Ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives.

• Previous experience with GD & T preferred.

• Knowledge of Lean, 5S, and other process improvement methodologies is a plus.

• Ability to make informed decisions and solve problems effectively.

• Ability to work in a hot and dirty heavy industrial manufacturing environment is required.

Reporting Relationships:

In this position, you will report to the Plant Manager providing regular updates and insights.
