About the Job
Patient and Visitor Reception : Greet patients and visitors warmly, both in person and over the phone, and respond to inquiries or direct questions to appropriate staff members.
Appointment Scheduling and Management : Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments for physicians and physician assistants. Contact patients who have missed appointments to reschedule.
Reception Area Maintenance : Keep the reception area clean, neat, and organized to provide a welcoming environment.
Patient Check-In and Information Update : Verify and update patient demographics, including address, phone number, email, and patient portal information as needed.
Insurance Verification : Verify patient insurance information to ensure accuracy for billing and administrative purposes.
Patient Portal Enrollment : Encourage patients to enroll in the patient portal and assist with any related inquiries.
Patient Assistance : Assist patients with any needs or questions to enhance their experience at the office.
Communication Management : Stay on top of all communication tasks throughout the day, including emails, messages, and task updates, ensuring all communications are addressed and resolved by the end of the day.
Portal Appointment Requests : Manage and resolve all appointment requests from the patient portal by the close of each day.
Referral Coordination : Gather referrals as needed and coordinate with other team members to ensure timely patient care.
Emergency Protocol Participation : Assist in medical office emergency routines, summon EMS or ambulances when necessary, and provide support to other staff during emergencies.
Additional Duties : Perform other tasks as assigned to support the smooth functioning of the medical office.
- Collecting Patient Co-Pays : Collect co-payments from patients during check-in, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payment procedures.
This role requires attentiveness to communication, patient engagement, and prompt handling of all assigned duties to ensure a seamless patient experience.
