About the Job
We are seeking an experienced and organized Medical Receptionist to join a healthcare team in Dothan, AL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in medical office software, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Pay will start between $12.00 - $13.00 per hour and offers a generous benefits package as well. Working hours will be Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.

Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive experience from the moment they enter the office.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance information and collecting necessary documentation.
- Schedule appointments and maintain an organized calendar for healthcare providers.
- Handle incoming phone calls using office phone systems, addressing inquiries or directing calls to appropriate staff members.
- Accurately input patient information into electronic health record systems such as Epic or Eaglesoft.
- Process medical records and documentation, including coding using ICD-9 when necessary.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, faxing, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with billing inquiries and provide administrative support to medical staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, with a strong understanding of medical administrative support functions.
- Proficient in 10 key typing and able to type efficiently for data entry tasks.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Eaglesoft is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in patient records and scheduling.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
