Position Summary:
The Front Desk personnel is an integral part of Columbia Dental's care team. They provide support to the office and assist in providing quality customer service to those that enter Columbia Dental's offices.
Hourly Rate Range:
- DOE - $16 - $18 per hour
General Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet and interact with patients in a friendly and empathetic manner
- Facilitate patient workflow
- Handle heavy phone volume professionally and proficiently
- Take customer calls and provide accurate, satisfactory answers to their queries and concerns
- De-escalate situations involving dissatisfied customers, offering patient assistance and support
- Call patients as needed to provide reminders and if there is a change in appointment
- Schedule appointments for Doctors & Hygienists
- Act as a liaison between patient and providers
- Calculate, collect, and post patient payments in Dentrix
- Formulate treatment plan with patient
- General office duties (printing/faxing/computer data entry, etc.)
- Insurance coordination and verification
- Deliver quality and compassionate care to every patient
- Maintain the cleanliness of the workspace every day
- Provide the highest level of customer service to our patients
- Travel to other Columbia Dental locations to provide coverage when requested by Manager
- Other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
- Detail oriented
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Experience working in a dental office is a plus
- Willingness to learn and grow
- Excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple tasks
- Demonstrates problem-solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork
- Reliable and flexible
- Self-motivated with the ability to exceed patient expectations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Able to pass background checks
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience using Dentrix is a plus
- Able to pass background checks

Physical Demands:
- Ability to be physically mobile (stand, walk, reach, climb, bend) and also the ability to stand for prolonged periods throughout the day/work hours when needed
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate medical equipment, keyboard, copier, telephone, and the ability to write/type
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds occasionally
