About the Job
Busy Otolaryngology (ENT) office is in need of a talented Medical Receptionist Supervisor at our Chesapeake ENT division. This is a working supervisor position that requires excellent customer care, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
The ideal candidate will assist in the day-to-day operations of the practice and help ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
This position requires travel between our 4 locations: Owings Mills, Rosedale, Columbia, and Westminster. The hours of work are varied Monday through Friday, but between business hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM in 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. No weekends.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support the Assistant Practice Administrator in overseeing daily operations, including patient scheduling, staff management, and ensuring optimal office workflows.
- Supervise other front desk employees.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Register and check out patients.
- Schedule appointments.
- Assist patients with insurance papers and billing questions.
- Maintain reception area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Assist with pulling charts and filing paperwork as needed.
- Assist with training new hires.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Required 1-year medical front desk/receptionist supervisory experience.
- Preferred at least 3-year medical front desk/receptionist experience.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills - Ability to develop relationships and collaborate and influence in a decentralized organization.
- Leadership Skills – Ability to effectively manage and motivate staff.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with a proven track record of results.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience.
- Able to work independently.
- Excellent time management, organization, and administrative support skills.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in the English language.
- Personality and demeanor to deal with the public and assist ill, older, or distraught patients.
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Familiarity with insurance billing, coding, and EMR systems.
- Graduate of a certified medical office training course preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
