Full Time Event Assistant
40 hour/week to include nights and weekends, when needed!

We are seeking a full-time Event Assistant to help coordinate and execute daily programming for our Apartment and Cottage community residents (Independent Living). Our community, located on James Island, SC, offers amazing amenities, generous benefits and life-friendly hours. The successful candidate will have compassion for and the desire to work with the elderly.
A Typical Day:
- Assist with individual and group activities to include introducing speakers and facilitating discussion.
- Assist with setting up activities and ensure all needs are met.
- Process receipts, accounts payable, credit card bill and resident billing.
- Maintain accuracy of BG Life, our resident engagement application, to ensure all details of activities are listed.
- Participate in Activity Committee meetings as necessary.
- Assist with scheduling and supervision of volunteers.
- Assess needs and maintains an adequate supply of materials to implement activity programs.
- Observe safety practices with residents at all times.
- Maintain safe driving practices with respect to company vehicles.
- Drive up to 12 residents on a BG bus to various activities and/or events.
- Assist in publication of the weekly calendar of events including printing.
- Availability for weekend and night outings as needed.
- Attend outings with residents with respect to their needs.
- Maintain a pleasant, respectful, and courteous demeanor.
- Remain flexible and cooperative in all activity planning and execution.
- Oversee monthly dinners and on the town outings – coordinate transportation and process billing.
- Help coordinate, schedule, and execute Spoleto season outings.
What We Need From A Candidate:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficient computer knowledge, Word, Publisher, Excel, Outlook and the ability to work with computer programs as needed
- Interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are necessary for exchanging information as well as maintaining a courteous relationship with the residents, families, visitors and Bishop Gadsden employees
- Ability to direct daily activities with little or no supervision
- Ability to read, write, speak and communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written in English
- Valid SC driver’s license with no violations within three (3) years
- Ability to drive a non-CDL Bishop Gadsden bus
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, and lift (up to 50 pounds /-)
- Availability for weekend and night outings as needed
