ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world's greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
World Relief is searching for a passionate Fundraising Coordinator to join our team in Northern California. This regional role will support our offices in both Sacramento and Modesto, playing a key part in empowering vulnerable communities. By leading a donor-centered annual giving strategy, you will inspire individuals, churches, foundations, and businesses to partner with us and support our impactful programs. Together, we can transform lives, create lasting change, and build flourishing communities in the Sacramento and Modesto region.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate Fundraising Efforts to Support World Relief Sacramento
- --Implement a fundraising plan covering all stages of donor relations: Identification, Qualification, Cultivation, Solicitation, and Stewardship.
- In partnership with office leadership, execute an annual campaign to raise essential funds.
- Facilitate one-on-one connections between the Regional Director and key donors for personalized engagement.
- Manage the Development and Delivery of Stories of Impact
- Share compelling stories that inspire deeper involvement from volunteers, donors, and church partners.
- Work with the Marketing team to amplify stories across digital and in-person channels, reaching new audiences.
- --Collaborate with Marketing
- Align with Marketing to implement brand amplification strategies, and in-person outreach.
- Leverage email drip campaigns to nurture leads and drive donations.
- Track and analyze lead generation efforts to improve donor acquisition and engagement.
- --Engage Churches and Communities
- Partner with the Church and Community Engagement team to integrate giving into outreach efforts.
- Promote and support events to increase donor engagement and deepen church partnerships.
- --Plan and Execute Fundraising Events
- Coordinate and assist with fundraising events, ensuring they inspire giving and increase awareness.
- Collaborate on event promotion to drive attendance and engagement.
- --Steward Donor and Funder Relationships
- In collaboration with the fundraising team and office leadership:
- Manage private funder relationships, including event participation, site visits, and ongoing communication.
- Cultivate and deepen donor relationships, including implementing a donor recognition and appreciation program to acknowledge and thank donors for their support.
- Participate in identifying and cultivating prospective donors, including developing strategies for identifying and cultivating relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations with the potential for initial giving.
- Other responsibilities as needed to further fundraising goals and support World Relief in Modesto and Sacramento, California.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Undergraduate degree or combination of related education and experience
- 3 years of related professional work, at least one year in the nonprofit sector
- Ability to travel throughout Northern California and the Bay Area.
- Proficiency in email marketing platforms (HubSpot, Mailchimp) for donor engagement.
- Experience with social media tools (Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn) for campaign management.
- Experience with CRM software (Raiser's Edge NXT, MS Dynamics, Salesforce, HubSpot, others)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for communication and reporting.
- Excellent writing skills to craft compelling, audience-driven messages.
- Must have access to reliable transportation and ability to travel to meetings or events
- Will be required to drive to our Modesto office a few times per month, which is approximately 150 miles around trip (Sacramento to Modesto, CA).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree or combination of related education and experience
- 3 years of related professional work, at least one year in the nonprofit sector
- Ability to travel throughout Northern California and the Bay Area.
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
