About the Role:
A general contracting project manager plans and oversees the building process of various construction projects from start to finish. Key responsibilities include building on schedule and staying within budget—retrieving the necessary permits to construct in certain communities and communicating the client’s project goals to the subcontractors and construction workers.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to the following:
-General knowledge of all trade scopes, project drawings and specifications
-Choose and collaborate with subcontractors to understand technical aspects of various scopes for proper methods of construction
-Working with architects, engineers, inspectors and other third-party agencies when necessary
-Project budget development to include value engineering efforts when possible
-Develop project construction work timetables and schedules (collaboration with project subcontractors)
-Project buyout and contract process management (with USC Builds director of preconstruction)
-Submittal process management
-Job cost reporting—updating important metrics for the project as needed
-Material, equipment and scheduling needs
-Lead project owner and project manager coordination meetings
-Knowledge of sequencing work and strategies for effective scheduling
-Billing (update USC Builds controller on progress and completion percentage for monthly billing submissions)
-Work with USC Builds controller and office staff regarding necessary project reporting requirements
-Verify subcontractor performance, quality and invoicing
-RFIs
-Change order estimates and processing
-Close-out procedures
-Proactively identify issues and creative problem solving.
Organizational duties to include:
-Mentor other project managers and field staff as needed
-Refine procedures and practices to improve efficiency
-Contribute ideas and suggestions for better organizational processes
-Attend company meetings and training as required.
Over time, these job descriptions or duties may need to be refined. Some of these duties may no longer be necessary and other duties may be introduced. If at any point your job duties change significantly, your role and compensation will be evaluated accordingly.
Compensation:
-Annual salary range: $85,000—$115,000 (commensurate with experience)
-100% employer-paid health, dental and vision plan coverages (employee responsible for co-pays and out-of-pocket expenses)
-Employee Assistance Training Program (EAP)
-$10,000 life insurance policy
-Short- & Long-term Disability
-Company credit card will be provided
-Company cell phone, iPad and laptop will be provided
-$100 annual credit for boot program when eligible
-401(k) program with 4% employer match when eligible at one-year anniversary from hire date
Paid Time Off (PTO):
-15 paid vacation days annually
-6 paid holidays as detailed in our Employee Handbook
-40 hours paid sick days to be accrued one hour for every 30 hours worked, but not to exceed 40 hours annually
