Job Overview:
The Geology, Geophysics, and Reservoir Engineering (GGRE) IT organization is responsible for developing GGRE IT strategies, roadmaps, governance, and supporting the application and workflow practices. It also oversees global portfolio management and provides execution support to Geoscience and Reservoir Engineering teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
The GGRE IT Senior Analyst is responsible for building strong relationships with Geoscience and Reservoir Engineering teams, particularly within the Global Technical Functions (GTF) organization. The role involves managing projects of varying scales, understanding the requirements of both GGRE and IT, facilitating cross-disciplinary communication, and ensuring that IT solutions align with GGRE capability priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting in-depth analysis of fiber optic workflows, subsurface modeling business processes, and workflows to document requirements for digital solution delivery.
- Developing and maintaining detailed business process models, use cases, and functional specifications.
- Leading solution assessment and evaluation, and establishing decision and solution selection criteria.
- Collaborating with cross-functional project teams, driving strategic initiatives, and achieving business objectives in partnership with GTF.
- Coordinating with Enterprise and Alaska Digital Teams to address complex data and solution design challenges related to diverse G&G data and application systems, fostering integration and collaboration across functions such as GG, Planning, and Wells.
- Serving as the business unit point of contact and project manager for GGRE data and application integrations, interoperability, and modifications.
- Leading multi-disciplinary teams to design and deliver new data, applications, and analytics solutions.
- Managing the G&G software portfolio and budget, providing input into the overall GGRE roadmap.
- Leading project and resource planning and execution in alignment with the GGRE roadmap and Alaska Willow Development Strategy.
Basic Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Geosciences, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field (or foreign equivalent).
- A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the upstream oil and gas industry.
Preferred Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience working with Geology, Geophysics, and Reservoir Engineering domains, with familiarity with their workflows and challenges.
- Proficiency in Geoscience & Reservoir Engineering workflows and software such as Petrel, Techlog, Intersect, DELFI, etc.
- Intermediate knowledge of Cloud environments and SaaS models.
- Proficiency in MS O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, business analysis tools, and project management software such as Microsoft Project, Jira, and Power BI.
- Experience with software portfolio management and vendor engagement.
- Familiarity with OSDU industry standards, data management, solution architecture, and IT security.
- Strong client and stakeholder management, with a focus on delivering results through effective planning.
- Accountability and ownership, ensuring commitments are met by both self and team.
- Understanding of key financial and quantitative business indicators.
- Ability to build positive relationships and foster collaboration across organizational boundaries.
