Position Summary
As a GIS Analyst, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and integration of enterprise GIS solutions for both external clients and internal project support. Your work will involve planning and conducting technical tasks that require judgment, and you may be required to devise innovative ways and solutions to problems. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to lead small-sized projects, showcasing your ability to successfully implement GIS solutions.
Responsibilities
Make full use of ESRI's ArcGIS software platform, incorporating all Desktop and Enterprise Components (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, and ArcGIS Online).
+ Produce spatial and tabular geographic information data
+ Gather, process, and convert Global Positioning System (GPS) field data
+ Coordinate and manage GIS databases
+ Maintain GPS/GIS hardware and software
+ Build and print maps that meet cartographic design standards
+ Craft and build relational databases
+ Perform data analysis based on attributes and spatial relationships
+ Present analysis in reports, graphs, and charts
+ Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures for data standards and integrity
+ Provide technical assistance, training, and project support to staff
+ Provide assistance and support for issues related to GPS and GIS hardware and software.
+ Develop and design programs and scripts using object-oriented programming techniques
Decision Making
You will receive instructions on assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions. You will also have the opportunity to receive or solicit mentorship on unusual and sophisticated problems, seeking supervisory approval on work plans when needed.
Interaction
In this role, you will have frequent technical interaction with other GIS staff, internal personnel, and clients. You will perform technical-related work on assigned projects with minimum supervision, while also providing training and support to clients and staff.
Education/Skills
To excel in the role of GIS Analyst, having a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geomatics, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. However, we also recognize equivalent experience, including internships, which adds up to 4-6 years of direct GIS work. A valid driver's license is necessary for this position. Apart from technical proficiency, we highly appreciate collaboration and effective communication skills. We promote ongoing education to foster technical and supervisory growth.
Work Environment
As a GIS Analyst, you will primarily work in an office environment. However, occasional project site visits may be required to gather necessary data and information.
Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous benefits package with health, dental and life insurance, 401(k) plan, paid time off, sick leave, holidays, and wellness plan.
