Primary Purpose
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs daily inspection of over 250 pieces of plant equipment for routine/abnormal operating conditions. Performs daily inspections of buildings/ for damage, general housekeeping, proper lighting, gas and liquid leaks. Performs facilities inspections for security breaches, electrical gate operation, soil erosion and damaged perimeter fencing. Documents appropriate records and stores in proper databases. Performs safety equipment inspections on fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, combustible gas analyzers, infrared systems, fire detection systems, temperature detection, foam system/pumps, dry chemical systems, combustible vapor detectors, fire water systems, diesel fire pump, electric fire pump, water turbine pumps, jockey pumps, open-path detectors, fast response units/foam. Assumes autonomous responsibility for contractor performance/safety, cavern water removal and treatment system, boil-off systems, liquefaction/refrigeration systems and their corresponding auxiliary and emergency equipment, Assumes responsibility for vaporization operations under the direction of plant leadership. Operates, equipment including but not limited to: compressors, expander, gas measurement devices, pumps, generators, inverters, purification systems, nitrogen systems, cryogenic refrigeration/liquefaction subsystems, SCADA (System Control and Data Acquisition system),vaporizers, heaters, dryers, cooling fans , motor control centers, control valves, gas mixing systems, flare systems, manual valves and associated auxiliary equipment systems involved in the transfer, storage, processing and distribution of natural gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquid and gaseous propane. Performs weekly/monthly/annual routine maintenance on operating and plant equipment per Asset Suite 8 schedule. Removes/installs over 300 safety valves annually per mandatory recertification requirements. Maintains proper lubrication levels and key temperature, pressure and flow criteria. Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment, repairs or requests repairs as appropriate. Unloads liquid propane/LNG gas trailers to maintain plant inventory, Performs AGA purging operations, lock out/tag out procedures and regulatory mandated inspections on process piping and equipment. Issues hot work permits and performs safe job briefings. Demonstrated ability to ensure continued compliance with all applicable codes including but not limited to: Federal Code 49, CFR part 192, 193 and NFPA 59 and 59A standards. Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend and apply one-line process flow drawings, parameters diagrams and basic 1-line electric drawings. Accurately reads, interprets and records data from field instrumentation in plant. Maintains accurate up to date logs in operating log and plant log book. Maintains hazardous chemical inventories in accordance with safety standards. Performs moderately complex calculations to adjust liquefication/vaporization process and lng/propane inventories. Is familiar with and able to navigate various types of corporate software (email, learning management system, intranet, Microsoft Word and Excel, Asset Suite 8 etc.). Position requires working weekends, holidays and rotating shifts. Position requires working with processes containing hazardous materials, working from elevations, exposure to all weather, and exposure to chemical plant like conditions and varied reporting locations (SGLNG & Notch-Cliff). Must maintain all of the required Gas Plant Operator Qualifications and LMS Training requirements for the LNG plant and Notch Cliff. Must meet mandated Operator Qualification standards in compliance of federal and state regulation. Proficient in knowledge of Gas Distribution and New Business safe work practice.

Valid driver's license and ability to meet and maintain company driving standards. Must notify the Company of changes impacting ability to drive. This position is considered a safety sensitive function and may be subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing. General knowledge of Microsoft windows, and window-based applications.
