About the Job
Summary of Position
Processing customer parts for sealing or impregnation through the production line.
What will you do?
- Participate in unloading customer raw or machined parts and place in baskets using proper lifting or teamwork for processing.
- Where appropriate, utilize stabilizing or protective quality measures to prepare basket such as mesh or stabilization devices to ensure basket is loaded evenly for weight distribution and placing lids on top.
- Send prepared basket to production line for porosity sealing or vacuum impregnation.
- Once through the line, unload baskets and perform post processing steps or testing.
- Repack parts into shipping containers ensuring parts are secure. Where appropriate, stamp or place quality control sticker on parts and use of torque or banding hand tools. May require shrink wrapping pallets and use of hand pallet jacks.
- May require alerting Quality Personnel or Team Lead about damaged, dirty or contaminated parts. Use of computers as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- May require working flexible hours.
- Carries out other duties as directed. Ability to use a light hoist or crane occasionally.
- Must be able to safely work in a variety of potentially hazardous situations while adhering to Quaker Houghton’s Life Saving Rules.
What do we look for?
- High school diploma or GED preferred. May be required to obtain certifications/licenses.
- Minimal to no experience in manufacturing environment required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate intermediate reading skills. Ability to effectively present information. Demonstrate basic mathematical skills.
- Ideal to have basic working knowledge of: Internet software, e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets and project tracking.
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 70 pounds with assistance
- May be required to stand for long periods and walk great distances daily
- Routinely required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
- May be required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear
