Key Accountabilities
Spot checkers are responsible for checking all pizzas to ensure a safe and high quality product according to the Company and USDA requirements. And, to follow the specifications of each BOM.
Responsibilities
- Check the ingredients along with the BOM to make sure that the pizza has the correct ingredients.
- Check the label to make sure the pizza is the right size product.
- Check the Julian Date on top each pizza, make sure it is correct.
- Check the plastic wrap that covers pizza, make sure that it is properly seal.
- Responsible for ensuring that the appearance of each pizza is complete.
- Responsible for checking that the weight of the pizza is correct.
- Other duties as may be assigned or volunteered for.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Experience working within an USDA / FDA, Facility.
- Experience with processes such as HACCP, SSOP and GMP is required.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills; team player; generates enthusiasm and builds effective working relationships with employees at all levels.
- Some English/Spanish bilingual capability required.
- Ability to train and coach.
- High School diploma. Or 4 years experience.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry, with a strong preference for the food industry.
- Good attitude.
- Abe to work 1st and 2nd shift.
- Able to communicate, make logical decisions and travel around the facility.
- Must be able to assess that equipment is sanitized fully and properly.
- Lift up to 30 lbs.
- Be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Bending and squatting.
- Work in cold environments of refrigerated and frozen conditions.
- Ability to work in the frozen, refrigerated and non-refrigerated environment.

Food Safety / Quality
- Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision and / or quality assurance.
- Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate attention.
