As our General Manager, you'll wear many hats, but your primary focus is leading our team to deliver exceptional southern cuisine and top-notch service.
Overview of Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of our restaurant's day-to-day operations, ensuring a smooth flow from our bustling kitchen to our welcoming dining area and patio.
Strategically and skillfully purchase bar inventory, keep records, and ensure budget goals are met.
Work with owners to develop and implement strategies to hit our sales targets, keeping a watchful eye on our budget and inventory control.
Provide guidance and training the team members need to flourish, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. We expect you to serve as a mentor and hold everyone accountable.
Conduct timely performance reviews for front-of-house staff.
Manage relationships between back-of-house and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
Build relationships with customers and create a welcoming, all-inclusive environment.
Monitor our food prep, ensuring our dishes are prepared and presented with the utmost care.
Ensure and enforce all health and safety regulations, keeping our staff and guests safe.
Build relationships, schedule, and ensure prompt payment to musicians and other third-party entertainment vendors. Plan occasional special events that bring traffic to our Speakeasy.
Foster strong and positive rapport with community members and the marketing team, and assist with coordinating and executing our “J. Renders Gives Back” initiatives.
Be entrusted to independently and confidently manage the restaurant but also know when is appropriate to manage up and consult owners.
Qualifications Required:
Proven experience as a General Manager or similar leadership role in the hospitality or food service industry.
Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
A deep understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and inventory management.
Familiarity with food production processes, quality control measures, and safe food handling practices.
Positive can-do attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with staff, guests, and vendors.
Impeccable attention to detail and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
A passion for southern cuisine and a deep appreciation for the finer points of wine and bourbon with willingness to plan special events.
