About the Job
The general manager is responsible for all front of the house considerations including:
- Be able to communicate on a high level of effectiveness with both front and back of house to address any issues, implement new policies and procedures, cultivating staff, and solve customer complaints.
- Operate within the defined boundaries of a manager.
- Guest service and satisfaction. This includes preventing negative reviews on social media and improving our current ratings (4.5Google/ 4.3 Yelp/ 4.5 OpenTable.)
- Store cleanliness and presentability.
- Inventory and dry goods ordering.
- Predicting the staffing needs of the location and scheduling employees accordingly while staying within budget (Limiting the number of support staff/ extracting value from tipped wage employees.)
- Team and bench building. You are responsible for improving the quality of your staff. Identify and correct the behavior ofproblematic employees.
- Accounting. Zero variance on daily cash receipts.
- Limiting comps and discounts to 1.5% of sales or less.
- Following the directives as written in the manager’s guide.
The general expectations require open availability on five scheduled workdays. The candidate is expected to be available on nonscheduled workdays for necessary/ urgent communication. This “exempt” position require 50 hours of your physical/ on-premises presence. This schedule can change depending on the needs of the restaurant.
