Responsibilities
- As the primary strategic business leader of the Hotel, this role is responsible for ensuring all aspects of the operation, including guest and associate satisfaction, financial performance, sales, and revenue generation, are managed effectively to deliver a return on investment to ownership.
- As the General Manager, you will lead a team in developing and implementing property-wide strategies. Your role is pivotal in successfully implementing brand service strategy and initiatives. The ultimate objective is consistently meeting or exceeding guest expectations and brand standards, which will significantly impact our operations.
- Moreover, as the General Manager, you will play a vital role in building relationships with key customers and members. Your involvement in the sales process is crucial to our success.
- As the General Manager, you will ensure the Hotel's sales channels are effectively leveraged. This includes initiating independent and proactive sales activities, when appropriate, to generate demand and drive revenue.
- You will hire team members who demonstrate strong functional expertise, creativity, entrepreneurial leadership, and critical thinking to meet the business needs of the operation.
- Ensure financial management of the budget.
- Inspire and motivate the team to achieve operational excellence.
- Ensure the sales strategy by encouraging effective revenue management practices.
- Ensure the STR report and use other resources to maintain an awareness of the property’s market position.
- Review sales goals and strategies to ensure alignment with positioning and pricing.
- Ensure sales and revenue engines are leveraged to drive RevPAR improvement year over year.
- Ensure capital expenditure funds are being budgeted and deployed effectively and within the program.
- Ensure staff is accountable for successful performance in a positive manner.
- Utilize an “open door” policy.
- Communicate a clear and consistent message regarding property goals to produce desired results.
- Foster associate engagement with providing excellent service.
- Conduct annual performance reviews with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Participate in daily Operations meetings to ensure strong and sustained interdepartmental communications, problem resolution, and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure accurate revenue, expense, and labor forecasts and execution.
- Create appropriate development plans based on individual strengths, development needs, career aspirations, and abilities.
