CLUB GENERAL MANAGER
Golf & Country Club – San Francisco, Bay Area
$190,000 - $230,000 + 25% Bonus Potential
Doyen Search Group is conducting a national search for a General Manager to lead the team of a well-known golf and country club in the San Francisco, Bay Area.
This is a career defining opportunity for General Managers, AGMs, and Club Managers who can demonstrate success in all the critical areas of golf club operations. PGA and CCM certifications preferred. This is a hands-on position in which leading from the front, and demonstrating authentic hospitality are the defining factors of the position. The GM must be polished, professional, approachable, with effective financial acumen, maintaining quality standards, maximizing profits, developing and retaining employees.
The General Manager leads and directs all golf and F&B operations with a large team of department directors.
Club amenities include championship golf, fitness, tennis/pickleball, award-winning dinning and private events.
Scope:
- Lead and direct all departments to include golf operations, food and beverage, sales, merchandising, and agronomy. Ensures all departments are achieving goals and maintain strong working relationships.
- Partner closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to create and execute programming, marketing plans, sales and pricing strategies.
- Create and execute short term and long term operational and financial plans for the club.
- Responsible for the selection, development, leadership and retention of talented staff.
- Monitor forecast and results on a daily/weekly basis and adjust as needed to achieve targets. Ensure proper controls are in place and being followed to accurately track revenues, payroll, inventories and expenses.
- Ensure staff provide excellent guest service. Review guest and member surveys and feedback and determine appropriate plan of action if appropriate.
- Ensures golf course complies with all federal, state and local laws.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in the golf, service or hospitality industry preferred.
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred.
- Active, visible member engagement and hands-on support of the team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
- Ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
