- Provide leadership, direction, and supervision of generation maintenance department to optimize unit reliability and availability.
- Work in concert with craft leads and maintenance planning group to prioritize, plan, schedule and direct maintenance activities.
- Develop work plan for scheduled and unscheduled unit outages with operations department.
- Responsible for assuring compliance with safety, environmental, insurance and other maintenance related requirements.
- Develop and implement procedures to be utilized by craft workers and contractors to safely perform maintenance duties.
- Work closely with manager and other plant departments on production, O&M and capital budget development, human resource issues, and strategic business plan development.
- Has the authority and is responsible for directing the work of staff.
- Provide input and is directly involved in any decisions regarding hiring/firing and disciplinary actions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree PLUS six years or more related work experience that includes demonstrated proficient leadership experience
OR - Associates or Technical degree PLUS eight years or more related work experience that includes demonstrated proficient leadership experience
OR - Completion of associated apprenticeship PLUS eight years or more related work experience that includes demonstrated proficient leadership experience
Field of study in engineering, electrical or mechanical preferred
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position will report regularly in person to Carlton, MN.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must have a high degree of communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and various internal departments.
- This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
