JOB SUMMARY: The Generator Technician is responsible for the support of the retail operation through the maintenance, installation, and repair of generators, electrical switching systems, and their associated distribution systems. This work will allow a continuation of retail operations during power outages. The final goal being that generators operate, and switch loads automatically during power outages.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Take ownership of the generators and associated electrical systems throughout his/her assigned stores and facilities.
- Conduct regular, periodic checks and perform preventative maintenance on generators and generators' switching systems so that critical failures do not occur.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain all aspects of generators, generator switching systems, and the associated distribution systems throughout the facilities.
- Install new and remove old power generation systems as needed for remodels and upgrades.
- Conceive and help develop procedures and strategies that can be adopted companywide for improved performance, reduced downtime, and cost reductions.
- Maintain all records necessary for government and company purposes.
- Travel to and visit retail locations and KVAT Food Stores, Inc. offices, as needed to provide repairs, new installs, and general maintenance.
- Responsible for attending on-site work during normal business hours, in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties through regular attendance.
- Ensure all aspects of company policy and procedures regarding good business and department practices are followed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in generator and/or electrical systems installation, inspection, and repair.
- Experience with supermarket generator, electrical, and refrigeration systems is a plus.
- Must possess a valid and unrestricted U.S. Driver's license.
- Must pass drug screen.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks, and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals, daily.
- Ability to attend on-site work during normal business hours, in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties through regular attendance.
