About the Job
- Assisting with performing and/or recommending lab testing
Assisting with foundation analysis and recommendations
- Drafting boring logs and location diagrams
Scheduling of drill rigs for geotechnical projects
Obtaining utility clearance for subsurface explorations
Assisting with determining appropriate subsurface exploration program and preparing drilling instructions
Performing boring and test pit layouts by both conventional surveying and Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
Classifying soil samples
Performing hand augers to obtain subsurface information and soil samples
Observing foundation or ground improvement installations

What We're Looking For:
Actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or related degree
Interest in how structures are supported and a desire to think outside the box
Previous internship experience would go a long way
Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites – Mileage will be reimbursed
- Position requires carrying 40 – 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height
