WSP USA is currently initiating a search for a Geotechnical Engineering Manager for our Los Angeles, California office . Be involved in projects with our Geotechnical & Tunneling National Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
+ Serve as a Geotechnical Engineering Manager on major infrastructure projects involving TBM tunneling, underground structure design and construction.
+ Develop and execute geotechnical investigation programs on major water and transportation projects.
+ Lead a team of engineers to provide geotechnical engineering support to new tunnel & shaft design as well as inspection and rehabilitation of existing tunnels.
+ Lead pursuit and prepare bid documents related to geotechnical design, schedule, cost estimate, etc.
+ Manage collaboration between owner, geotechnical design team and contractor.
+ Prepare contract documents and participate value engineering evaluations.
+ Provide oversight on technical issues related to geotechnical design and construction of underground structures.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
+ 12+ years of relevant post education experience in Geotechnical/Tunnel Engineering Design and Construction.
+ Professional Engineer (P.E.) Registration in California.
+ Geotechnical Engineer Registration in California.
+ Advanced proficiency with geotechnical engineering principles and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
+ M.S. or PhD in Civil / Geotechnical Engineering or Earthquake Engineering.
+ Extensive experience in design and construction of major underground projects.
+ Experience communicating with project stakeholders.
+ Proven experience in leading geotechnical engineering design and construction of large water or transportation projects.
+ Proven experience in preparing contract drawings, specifications and cost estimates of major infrastructure projects.
+ Ability and willingness to travel and work at project office or site.
+ Excellent verbal and written communications.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $180,000 - $225,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
