Position Summary
The position is responsible for the daily operations of gift processing and acknowledgments. The incumbent must use judgment and discretion in the processing of over 55,000 annual transactions received by the Philanthropy Team and in the handling of in excess of $15,000,000 (15 million) on an average annual basis. The incumbent interacts extensively with philanthropy staff and donors and interacts frequently with the Financial Services. Other responsibilities include donor maintenance, interacting with the Finance department and other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Graduation from high school, some college preferred, including, or supplemented by, course work in Business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation and general accounting principles.
- License/Certifications: N/A
- Experience: Six months to one year's experience with experience in database software or financial recordkeeping position.
- The ability to work independently in accordance with established policies and procedures, proofreading and attention to detail.
- The ability to perform mathematical calculations and maintain accurate and detailed computerized records. Experience with Excel, Word and mail merge a must. Fundraising database and general accounting principles knowledge a plus. Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in the performance of duties. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, volunteers, supervisors, and the public andcommunicate with donors in a courteous, tactful, and professional manner.
