Job Summary
Harris-Stowe State University, (HSSU) in collaboration with other HBCUs, has been awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to build research capacity at the institution. The goal of this grant is to establish and sustain a University Research Office that will align with its Sponsored Program Office to support grant administration, expand faculty collaborations with academic institutions, industry, national labs, and government organizations; and provide professional development and research grant training to faculty.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The Grant Administrator will report to the Sponsor Program Officer and will be responsible for grant writing, conducting grant training sessions for faculty and staff to grow their skill sets for preparing grant proposals, submitting grants, understanding grant compliance, and administering research awards received by HSSU. The Grant Administrator will perform pre-awards and post-awards duties for developing and managing grant budgets, identifying grant opportunities, building project narratives, and supporting principal investigators with annual reports and evaluation needs.
Essential Functions
- Identify various grant proposal opportunities for HSSU faculty within the College of Education, College of STEM, College of Social Science, Arts and Humanities, and the Anheuser-Busch School of Business.
- Collaborate with HSSU faculty on grant writing, and assist with proposal preparation, completeness, and final submission to federal agencies.
- Stay up-to-date on current federal, state, local, and other agency regulations, institutional policies, and procedures to assure compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Experience with federal sponsors such as NSF, DOE, and others
- Post-award, financial management, and pre-award compliance
