About the Job
The Grants Administrator, a non-exempt, hourly position, is the centralized administrator of the grant process from the intake/entry point throughout the life cycle of the grant and provides clerical support for Program department activities. The Grant Administrator is additionally a liaison between internal departments and the public and provides professional customer service to internal and external audiences.
1) Competitive Grantmaking.
- Processes various competitive funding applications in the Grant Lifecycle Manager and CSuite Programs
- Assists Organizations through the application process
- Performs due diligence ensuring required documentation is complete
- Assists with assigning grant reviewers to proposals and scheduling appointments for those reviewers
- Provides application materials to reviewers, committees and Board
- Develops power point slides for internal review meetings
- Maintains grant payment schedule and monitors required evaluative components of issued grants.
2) Communication and Special Events.
- Provides grant information for publications and public relations
- Schedules meetings and helps with event logistics
- Assists with presenting and planning grant writing and other workshops and events
- Attends various Board meetings as a liaison for the Foundation.
3) Database and Reporting.
- Maintains the Grant Lifecycle Management Database
- Provides reports to Foundation staff and partners
- Remains up to date on new trainings and enhancements provided by Foundant.
4) Maintain grant files.
- Scan and save files electronically across varying data systems in accordance with the records retention policy.
5) Other.
- Provides coverage for the Donor Relations Associate and Manager, Office Administration in their absence.

Required Experience:
Education/Degrees:
Associate degree; Bachelor's degree desirable
Experience:
Minimum of five years related experience with database and/or data process improvements. Familiar with researching and writing grant proposals and/or working in a nonprofit setting in an employee or volunteer capacity.
Key Skills, Knowledge and Personal Characteristics:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and experience with a grants management and/or database management system
- Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal skills
- Must have an ability to be focused and detailed, meet deadlines and juggle multiple tasks, be organized and effective, and work as part of a team, while maintaining priorities
- Knows best practices and key functions of grants management such as compliance, evaluation and reporting
- Ability to handle confidential, proprietary and sensitive information requiring judgment and discretion
