Job Description: Responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and enhancing all technical functions related to graphics, including managing customer relationships, handling art files and designs, and ensuring successful implementation for both existing and new products. Manages all graphic projects for key local customers and, as time permits, other smaller accounts. Ensures customer and press-side approvals are executed with integrity.

Job Description: Responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and enhancing all technical functions related to graphics, including managing customer relationships, handling art files and designs, and ensuring successful implementation for both existing and new products. Manages all graphic projects for key local customers and, as time permits, other smaller accounts. Ensures customer and press-side approvals are executed with integrity.
- Act as the main point of contact and liaison between customers and the Regional Account Manager on design, graphic, and color-related matters.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with customers on updates, changes, or improvements to artwork, ensuring stringent controls on color and ink quality.
- Facilitate active customer engagement by processing new designs, ideas, and printing substrates, optimizing production while minimizing additional costs.
- Exhibit a deep understanding of fundamental principles and techniques to deliver high-quality products independently.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers to ensure accurate layouts, designs, and specifications for color printing, ink, and board are well-understood by all parties.
- Maintain professional communication and business ethics when interacting with customers, both on-site and remotely.
- Utilize technical expertise to maintain quality control and drive product improvements.
- Manage the design, ordering, and use of cylinders to meet production needs, focusing on cost control by maximizing the use of existing cylinders and designs.
- Secure necessary information for decision-making regarding new versus existing cylinders.
- Work closely with cylinder vendors to ensure equipment quality meets production requirements.
- Design and implement tooling solutions to ensure efficient production, minimizing downtime and setup times.
- Collaborate with Graphics Coordinators across different sites to maximize production efficiency and control costs.
- Work with production teams to resolve ongoing printing challenges, ensuring compliance with customer design specifications through accurate color matching and design flow.
- Leverage advanced technologies to enhance computer solutions for the graphics function.
- Manage equipment costs, including cylinders and tooling, by negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure the highest quality at competitive prices.
- Administer cost control measures across the graphic functions.
- Support OHSE (Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment) and Quality policies, integrating these principles into daily operations.
Requirements:
- Technical degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pre-press printing, specifically in Gravure and/or Offset printing.
- Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Advanced skills with Macintosh systems (G3), Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
